I’m worried that I’ve become a blog post whiner, or even worse, a blog post bore. That my posts are the kind that have a lot of, “then I did this, then I went here, then I felt guilty for eating too much”, rather than sparkling wit and keen observations of what I am seeing in my every day life. That complete strangers might want to read. Failing that, at least some fun recipes with pretty pictures and chatty accounts of my experiments with making the dish – that might get me a cookbook contract!!
This malaise was partially brought on by the weekly newsletter I get from my CSA Farm, Tipi Produce, that included a note that they were now going to occasionally include recipes from their friend and farmer-neighbor Lauren Rudersdorf, who blogs at The Leek and The Carrot. This is in addition to the subscription service recipes we get as part of our CSA membership from Local Thyme. So what’m I, chopped livah? CSA box is a tag on my blog, and I think I have a few bright & appealing and not whiney posts. In fact, I have two recipes with CSA box in the title, this pie (or galette), and this brand new one that’s not quite finished yet, for pasta salad. And I think, judging from this list:
of what I’m getting in my box this afternoon, one old friend – ramen salad – and one new – stuffed portobella mushrooms – are about to make appearances.
OK, that’s enough whining. It’s got me inspired to do a bunch of cooking and take pretty pictures of it.
Coda: here’s the first thing I made:
Although – it’s just not that pretty. Tasty, though, and I think it would be delicious as a salad, with a sesame oil vinaigrette, and chow mein noodles on top.
