Pit the dates, cut them into small pieces, drop them into the pan with the oats and water, and bring to a boil over medium high heat. Reduce the heat, stir, and cook for about 3 minutes. Peel and slice about half the banana into the pan, stir again, and cook for about another 3 minutes.
