{"id":220,"date":"2019-04-21T22:26:17","date_gmt":"2019-04-21T22:26:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/debslunch.com\/new-recipes\/?p=220"},"modified":"2019-04-21T22:27:13","modified_gmt":"2019-04-21T22:27:13","slug":"roman-style-cheese-tart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/debslunch.com\/new-recipes\/roman-style-cheese-tart\/","title":{"rendered":"Roman-style cheese tart"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Crust:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 1\/2 cups unbleached white flour<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 cup sugar<\/li>\n<li>pinch of kosher salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon baking powder<\/li>\n<li>8 tablespoons, 1 stick, 4 oz., softened unsalted butter<\/li>\n<li>1 large egg lightly beaten<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Filling:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 ounces cream cheese, softened<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon dark rum or 2 teaspoons vanilla<\/li>\n<li>1 large egg yolk<\/li>\n<li>1 cup whole milk ricotta cheese<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Make the crust:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mix the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder in a large bowl. Blend in the butter until it looks like crumbs. Mix the beaten egg in with a fork until you have a soft dough. Pat the dough into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch tart tin with removeable bottom. Chill for 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><em>Make the filling:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mix the cream cheese, sugar, and rum or vanilla. Add the egg yolk and ricotta and mix well.<\/p>\n<p><em>Bake the pie:\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Heat the oven to 350\u00b0. Pour the cheese filling into the crust. Bake for 45 minutes or until puffed and brown. Cool on a rack for 10 minutes, or until cool enough to handle, and then remove the outer rim of the tart tin. Serve at room temperature or slightly chilled.
