I’m going to an event<\/a> at the Wisconsin Historical Museum<\/a>, to celebrate a show<\/a> that Dave Benton<\/a> of Spooner<\/a> helped to curate, about the Madison music scene in the 1980s and ’90s. Of which I think I was part – I did a radio show on WORT<\/a>, and I was married to the owner of a record store<\/a> that went out of business, and he became a manager at Rose Records<\/a>, a venerable Chicago chain, that opened a store in Madison and which is also now defunct. Anyways, Slatewood was downstairs from Merlyns & sold tickets for the club, and the bands came in for in stores – signing stuff & occasionally played a few tunes. And I sure went to a lot of shows back then, especially Spooner shows.<\/p>\n

So I came home from work, and spent about 20 minutes making the all-important decison of what t-shirt to wear. I thought about the Rose shirt.<\/p>\n

But in the end I went with a plain black T with a Survival Graphics button – the handiwork of Mike Tincher<\/a>, who also did a couple of Spooner album covers.<\/p>\n
