{"id":5729,"date":"2012-07-25T13:47:03","date_gmt":"2012-07-25T18:47:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/debslunch.com\/debslunchblog\/?p=5729"},"modified":"2014-03-16T22:54:33","modified_gmt":"2014-03-17T03:54:33","slug":"dinner-at-annies-pt-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/debslunch.com\/debslunchblog\/dinner-at-annies-pt-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Dinner at Annie&#8217;s, pt. 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday, my friend and neighbor Ann had sort of a repeat of the dinner I made for her <a href=\"https:\/\/debslunch.com\/debslunchblog\/2012\/07\/19\/feeding-25-from-my-csa-box\/\">last Wednesday<\/a> &#8211; about 20 people, I made a bunch of salads, and desserts, and she grilled brats. This time, they had:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Picnic Potato Salad\" href=\"https:\/\/debslunch.com\/debslunchblog\/recipes\/picnic-potato-salad\/\">potato salad<\/a> &#8211; a really nice one; little yellow potatoes from the farmers market, sweet Walla Walla onions from my CSA box, lots of fresh parsley and hard-boiled eggs, also from the farmers market, and mayonnaise from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hellmanns.com\/product\/detail\/97847\/Real-Mayonnaise\">Hellman&#8217;s jar<\/a>. I made it Monday night (<a href=\"http:\/\/instagram.com\/p\/NbsbSmTaZq\/\">whilst recovering from colonoscopy<\/a>), and chilled it overnight &#8211; then, since the potatoes had soaked up a bunch of the mayo, I sort of frosted it with a little more mayo, dusted it with paprika, and sliced the last HB egg on top.<\/li>\n<li>Ramen salad (<a href=\"http:\/\/debslunch.blogspot.com\/2006\/06\/i-think-i-finally-got-ramen-noodle.html\">this recipe,<\/a> but less sugar; 1\/2 cup to 3 packs of ramen &#8211; 1 1\/2 X the recipe) and left out the seasoning packets from the ramen) &#8211; again a good one, with CSA box cabbage and shredded salad turnips, and shredded carrots, too.<\/li>\n<li>Big lettuce salad with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodandwine.com\/recipes\/baked-mustard-dressing\">mustard-y dressing<\/a>, and hunks of good tomato, with croutons &#8211; buttery, herb-y, homemade ones, olives &amp; feta on the side.<\/li>\n<li>Fruit salad: watermelon, cantaloupe, honey dew, pineapple, and grapes<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/debslunch.com\/recipes\/brownies.html\">Brownies<\/a> (came out oddly dark around the edges, but I&#8217;m sure they were still good) and <a href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=npWKWdSc-gMC&amp;lpg=PP1&amp;ots=iiMYibFBQT&amp;dq=veganomicon%20chewy%20oatmeal&amp;pg=PP1#v=onepage&amp;q=veganomicon%20chewy%20oatmeal&amp;f=false\">vegan chewy oatmeal cookies<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This time, I didn&#8217;t stick around and eat &#8211; my loss. After leaving all the good food at Ann&#8217;s, I went home and reheated the last brat from Saturday and ate it wrapped in a tortilla &#8211; not so good.
