I followed the bike path to the cemetery and came back through the neighborhood. Things were pretty deserted &#8211; most folks staying inside, sealed up in air conditioning &#8211; but there were people out on the bike path trying &#8211; like me &#8211; to get in a little exercise: biking, running, walking; before it got too hot. I left the house at a little after 8:00 and it was not quite 80\u00ba &#8211; it was 87\u00ba when I got back at 9:00, and it&#8217;s 100\u00ba now. The neighborhood 4th of July parade and block party still went on as planned.
