Normally, at this time on Sunday, I’d be getting ready to go walk Mark’s 10,000 step loop that includes coffee at Colectivo, but the AFS kid needs to be dropped at a friend’s house at 9:45 and that’s only partway into the walk, so instead I’m listening, sorta watching, this Wilco/Sleater-Kinney show I bought, they’re performing at Millennium Park, last night, and starting this post. I thought maybe I’d go for a bike ride before dropping the kid, but I puttered too long, so now hoping for after. I took a half day Friday, and didn’t work yesterday, so need to today.

And, now …. quick change of plans, the kid doesn’t need to be at the friend’s until 10:30, so I guess if I get myself together quick I could do part of the walk with Mark … I dunno, we’ll see, whatever, I’ll be back.

So, now it’s almost 5:30, and I’m skipping around in the Wilco vid to see the songs I like. We survived the AFS welcome picnic, and now our student has the other German kid who’s here this year, but not at the same high school, in her snap chat.
I worked a little bit, not enough.
Let me tell you about the dream I had this morning when I fell back asleep between 6:28 and 7:03. Mark and I were on a train, we seemed to have kind of a sleeper car, and were sitting in the bed propped up on pillows, talking about what I should make for dinner. I wanted to make fried rice to use up the last piece of the pork tenderloin we’d had as a sheet pan supper with green beans and tomato salad and potatoes, but Mark wanted me to make some rice thing that he’d heard about on Triple D, that wouldn’t use up all the leftovers, so I was trying to justify my choice. I looked out the window and saw Meredith from work with a wheelie bag and other luggage and she was in some kind of trouble, so I went out to help. Then I was in the hallway of the train in just a nightgown and somehow both Meredith and I were on the wrong train without cell phones and trying to figure out how to get to the next station to correct things. There was some kind of unpleasant fiber-y stuff between her two pieces of luggage that I was removing and rolling up neatly. Then I woke up.
This was a recipe week for my CSA. I’m still working on getting the recipes written up for the CSA Category at DebsLunch Recipes, New & Improved, here’s a collage of most of the dishes.
And with that I think it’s time to go cook dinner – we’re having an actual dinner tonight, since we didn’t have a huge brunch to be followed by just desserts for dinner. That maligned fried rice, and some kind of salad with cherry tomatoes, and cheesecake bars with cherry pie filling – and maybe ice cream – on top.
