George Harrison sings for John
I can’t believe I’m so old I have a kid who’s 30, although I’m actually old enough to have a kid who’s 40, if I’d started sooner.
I made a temporary special blog banner for the occasion:
They almost never looked like this – John’s only about 19 months older than Al, so most of the time, as far as John was concerned, Al was useless as a little brother. He and John did everything at the same time, so John didn’t get to teach him stuff. But it’s a still a really nice shot, courtesy of their Dad. Al is not quite one here, so John is about two and a half. We called Al suvhead at that time – he had what he called suvvy toys (fuzzy stuffed animals) and his hair was about the same. I think John was mostly John, but occasionally memar, or Mr. Pal. We called him Pal (this was the late ’80s, days of Miami Vice and Don Johnson called everybody Pal) and then Mr. Pal, and then M.R. – and then he started calling himself memar – as in “me M.R.”
I’m not sure how all the food’s going to work out – I’ll tell you tomorrow.
