On Wednesday Susan and I drove to Milwaukee in a cold rain and rush hour traffic to see Robyn Hitchcock, a show that had been postponed since 2020. Susan had to drive back after the show – well, we switched at Hartland – because I couldn’t see well enough in the rain. Here’s the setlist.
On Friday, Mark got tickets for us to go see the UW Band concert, back after two year’s hiatus, and the new band director’s first one, since he started in Fall 2019.
On Sunday I got tickets and we went to see Wilco in Chicago, the last show of a special tour they did to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. We went and had dinner at a family Italian place in the South Loop, Victory Tap, that’s about 2 downtown Chicago blocks that are only 50 instead of 100 away from where our apartment used to be, and then went to the show. They played the record, and about 5 additional songs, and it was exactly 2 hours long. Very civilized.
It was all lots of fun, but I took no pictures. And my website’s been full of 404 errors – I think from incompatible themes and PHP versions – so I haven’t been inspired to write. Right now – knock wood – everything’s working.
Meanwhile, the other thing going on in Wisconsin is our Bucks are winning. And, look they just won the first round of the playoffs while I was writing this.
I thought I’d be working on the website trying to eliminate the errors while listening to Robyn & Emma and the stuffed toys in concert on their couch in Nashville – but since it seems the website’s working, knock wood, it’s been a more relaxing evening than I thought it would be.
Oh, and looky here – I guess I did take a few pics.
