Guacamole made with early spring ingredients from the Farmer’s Market – a couple of hydroponic or hoop house tomatoes, and green garlic, along with lemons and limes and avocados from warmer places then WI (probably California or Mexico. I wonder if they’ll let produce through Trump’s wall?) We filled up on guacamole & chips, so I saved the roast asparagus & potatoes for lunch.
Although we did nibble on a few hunks of potato and asparagus, room temp. I seem to remember eating that sort of paring-knife-blade-shaped potato seen in the middle.
With balsamic vinegar and an egg on top. The balsamic makes this kind of like Unky Dave’s potato salad. The potatoes are roasted in oil, and then you add mustard and vinegar to complete the dressing after taking it out of the oven.
Speaking of my brother, he’s started reading/podcasting some of his blog posts. I guess 327 words is usually under 2 minutes, pretty cool. Made me wish I had recorded myself giving my 2-minute spiel on what I learned in how to teach good online class. It was last Friday morning, when I spilled my coffee on my name table tent, and the table cloth – and generally made a mess. PS, they did record me, and here’s what it looks like, although I would’ve preferred the audio only version, I think.
This morning (Wednesday, Star Wars May the fourth day) I am having a hurry up and wait day. Woke at 5:45 and lay in bed playing with my phone and thinking about all I had to do, and now at work, where, while some progress is being made, I am obviously distracted from the reading and writing and thinking things I should be doing at my computer: grading, creating a make up assignment for a student who was fired from his group project group, reviewing applications for a search committee I am on, drafting the schedule for the new students bootcamp in August. See, writing it all down is yet more progress, right? And, there are the lures to simply leave – like, to book my flight to the ALA conference in June on the departmental credit card, I need to bike home and get my new TSA precheck#. And I should walk over to the Union and get bus tickets for Chicago. So how come I’m writing a blog post? I keep thinking about the Janis Joplin documentary on PBS that I watched most of last night; I should say something about that ….. enough.
