Apple Crisp

Vanilla ice cream

Preheat oven to 375°F. Butter 13x9x2-inch glass baking dish. Combine apples and 3 TBLS sugar in a large bowl; toss to coat. Transfer the mixture to prepared baking dish.

Combine oats, flour, cinnamon, remaining 1 cup sugar, and butter in medium bowl. Using pastry blender or fingertips, blend ingredients until coarse meal forms. Sprinkle evenly over apples.

Bake crisp until apples are tender and topping is golden brown, about 1 hour. Serve warm with ice cream, except to your odd children who may prefer it cold ....
