They’re called Appenzell Biberli (little beavers). But you’re right, it doesn’t seem like they got into Epicurious – the 2004 Gourmet version was by Nick Malgieri, and seems to be in this book of his – Cookies Unlimited – which I bet you can find in your local library – and probably the 2004 Gourmet, too!
