Thanks - I make those cookies -

They're called Appenzell Biberli (little beavers). But you're right, it doesn't seem like they got into Epicurious - the 2004 Gourmet version was by Nick Malgieri, and seems to be in this book of his - Cookies Unlimited - which I bet you can find in your local library - and probably the 2004 Gourmet, too!
cheers,
deb

Hi Debra -- love your site! I saw you mentioned the Gourmet December 1994 issue; I used to have a copy of this as well that I intended to keep forever for the cookie recipes, but it got lost in a move. I've been looking everywhere for a recipe that I think was included in that issue -- one for almond-filled spice cookies that were rolled into logs and cut out like little trapezoids. Does that ring any bells? I'd send you my right arm for the recipe...

You should not feel wimpy, that is an amazing variety of cookies! So envious of your baking skills. Where and how do you store the cookies? How do you package them? Where do you get the nice tins? Will you share the recipe for the jam cookies? Thanks!
