Thanks - I make those cookies - They're called Appenzell Biberli (little beavers). But you're right, it doesn't seem like they got into Epicurious - the 2004 Gourmet version was by Nick Malgieri, and seems to be in this book of his - Cookies Unlimited - which I bet you can find in your local library - and probably the 2004 Gourmet, too! cheers, deb

Hi Debra — love your site! I saw you mentioned the Gourmet December 1994 issue; I used to have a copy of this as well that I intended to keep forever for the cookie recipes, but it got lost in a move. I’ve been looking everywhere for a recipe that I think was included in that issue — one for almond-filled spice cookies that were rolled into logs and cut out like little trapezoids. Does that ring any bells? I’d send you my right arm for the recipe…
