Deb’s Lunch is written by me, Debra Shapiro, mild-mannered librarian by day, foodie and cook for hire the rest of the time. I wanted to be an artist when I was growing up, and studied art & art history in college. The resulting BA in art history turned out to be the qualifying degree for about 15 years of restaurant work. My favorite thing to do is cook for people, and I love to research and write recipes. I write about food, photograph food, post on Twitter & Tumblr mostly about food, and for the last seven years, I’ve been operating a private dining club called schoolwoods.com – now morphed into a smaller operation called Dinner at DebS.
